Abstract

The book Between like and burnout: psychoanalytic reflections, by Marielle Kellermann, is surgical in touching on such contemporary issues clearly and in depth. Published by Blucher in 2023, the book brings important reflections on the relationships established between subjects and the new modalities of virtuality imposed by the technological scene. Part of the psychoanalytic contribution to the interpretation of the vicissitudes of our times, reinvigorating psychoanalysis and bringing what has been an urgent topic to the debate. It addresses online analyses, the growing cult of image and the appreciation placed on likes, as well as thinking about the phenomenon of Burnout, a subject that is so talked about in a colloquial way and that deserves the ethical consistency of the psychoanalytic exercise. It is understood to be a book of value to contemporary clinics, due to the subjectivities that are ongoing, as well as the ethical-political commitment to the social bond and its manifestations.
