“Frontier” psychoanalysis and neogenesis processes

Abstract

Contemporary clinical problems challenge our praxis in its capacity to resolve human suffering. Where the classical analytical method is insufficient for the approach of psychic suffering, a “frontier” psychoanalysis is deployed that aspires to produce rearrangements of the psychic topic. Silvia Bleichmar’s conceptualization of “transitional symbolizations” aims at widening the scope of our clinical instruments, including interventions that are oriented to produce a symbolization for that which has not achieved this status, promoting the recomposition of the psychic framework. This perspective inaugurates the possibility of deploying, within the same framework of the analytical treatment, processes of neogenesis that propitiate the constitution of the unconstituted and the cleavage and reorganization of what is psychically inscribed in new symbolizing plots.
